I bought the BUNN NHBX-B about 4 months ago. So far, this has been the best coffee brewer we have ever had. Over the past several years we have gone through several programmable models, from Black and Decker to Mr. Coffee to the cheapest off-brands. This BUNN brewer is simple, easy to use, requires little set up, and makes great coffee in a very short time. Will programmable brewers sound nice, if you ever forget to set the brewer up and have to do it in the morning, be prepared to wait 10+ minutes for your first cup and thats after you put a clean filter in, scoop the coffee in and pour the water. With this BUNN coffee brewer, you cannot program it, but when you flip the switch, you will have a full cup of coffee in 3 mins. BUNN filters are required, regular filters are not deep enough. The BUNN brewer has a sprayer head that circulates the coffee in the filter so that it brews faster but if the filter isn't deep enough, the grounds will run over the filter and you will have grounds in your coffee. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for. BUNN brewers have been around forever and they are some of the most reliable brewers you can get. One of the biggest problems we had with programmable brewers was the clock not keeping the time, or not starting the brewer. This BUNN brewer eliminates that problem by eliminating the clock. We bought one of these for my mother for xmas and when she opened it she literally said "YES!" because she had been wanting a good brewer and has had good luck with BUNNs in the past.

" We needed a new coffee maker, so I started reading reviews. There are so many coffee makers to choose from; it's mind boggling. Everyone seemed to love a Bunn, so I bought this model. It's fantastic! It takes 3 minutes to brew a hot pot of coffee. The unit comes with a small supply of filters. One review said that it's hard to find filters, but I found them at a major dept. store. It is not have a bitter taste as a few have suggested. I always use a melitta cup for making any espresso coffee and this one is just delicious. I checked my ph strip and it does not register as acid. It doesn't bother my stomach at all and I am super sensitive to anything acid. American coffee I have a hard time tolerating; the Italian and Kenya coffees that are dark roast espresso are thought by some people via their processing techniques and quality to be alkaline. It makes the American coffee look like junk for how the body responds and the taste. Once you have had this coffee you won't want American coffee anymore.

In case anyone is wondering what a melitta cup is, it is a cone made from plastic or ceramic (mine is ceramic) and it has a hole at the bottom. I adjust the coffee filter to fit it and then put the espress coffee in it and then pour my hot water from the tea kettle into it. I add a little nut milk into the coffee and I am ready to enjoy a wonderful taste. It beats dealing with a coffee maker any day. Each person in the family can have their own melitta cup as it is so quick to do.

This is much better than anything I have seen in the store. Granted I didn't go from store to store, so decided to purchase on line. It is a great looking, well functioning coffee maker. It is a very nice looking red. The decanter is comfortably large and drip free....which was one of the most important features to me. The water arm is trouble free and not even worth a mention except in one or two of the other reviews it was a negative, but so easy to become accustomed to that it amazed me that anyone could think it was a problem. It arrived 2 days after I ordered it but am still waiting for the permanent coffee filter which according to delivery information takes about 10 days from order date. No problem, used paper filters till I get it. Thought the permanent coffee filter was worth the extra money. They stay relatively clean as I have used others. The programming is a snap and you really don't even need the manual as one of the other reviews pointed out. The coffee it brews is just as good as any other and really depends on the coffee you choose. It also serves a nice hot cup of coffee. For a reasonable amount of money for a coffeemaker, I am well pleased and I say "GO FOR IT!"

My present coffee maker, a Braun has been just great, but it's starting to see better days and I am ready to move on to another brand for a change. We'd been suffering along for a few years with a motley collection of junky old percolators at my church and it was high time to replace them with something that worked correctly (some of our old ones had started spouting hot water and making a complete mess with the coffee grounds everywhere!).
