3 Cup Coffee Press

I initially bought one of these coffee pots over a year ago. It not only brews a great pot of coffee, but does a wonderful job of keeping it hot. A cup poured 2 1/2 hours after the coffee finishes brewing is just as hot and tasty as one poured five minutes after it finishes brewing! I have found that I have to wait a minute or so after it beeps before it is "truly" done brewing.

The second one I purchased was for my parents after recognizing that the coffee maker they had with a thermal carafe never got the coffee hot enough. As soon as it was done brewing, the coffee was warm, but not hot! I got one of these for them and they've loved it.

I recently moved and my ex kept the coffee maker. I thought I'd be economical and purchase a smaller Cuisinart, since I'd be living alone. A month or so later, however, I ended up ordering one of these anyway! I'd missed it! The smaller 4-cup pot didn't keep the coffee warm long at all. In fact, by the time I poured the second cup, it was cold.

"I have had my Cuisinart thermal coffee maker for two years and love it. While some people have commented that the coffee maker is difficult to use, I have not found this to be the case. You just need to be sure that you have screwed on the lid to the carafe correctly, and there are directions on the lid to help you with this. My coffee stays hot for hours in the carafe. As far as customer service goes, I can't say enough about Cuisinart. I recently noticed that there were black flakes in my coffee. Upon further inspection, I found the black flakes appeared to be coming from the carafe. It appeared that there was a black lining in the carafe that was flaking off. I emailed customer support through the Cuisinart web site and describe the issue. Four days later I received a phone call from a Cuisinart service rep. She explained that the inside of the carafe is made of stainless steel and that the "black lining" I had described was actually coffee residue build-up. All I needed to do was run vinegar and water through the coffee maker and let it soak in the carafe.
