This is possibly the best coffee pot we have ever owned. It brews a FULL pot of coffee in 3 minutes! So, I usually unload my dishwasher and by the time that is done, my coffee awaits! I don't like lukewarm coffee, and the warming plate keeps it HOT! You really do need to use filters designed for BUNN coffee makers, but they are readily available at local discount stores such as WalMart, KMart or Target stores, and they are no more expensive than store brands. The reason is they are slightly "taller" than the others and keeps the grounds in the filter basket rather than in the brewed coffee. I also find I can actually use less coffee and still have great tasting coffee (I think the brew time has something to do with that). The only drawback is that it does not have a timer to enable setting up the pot so you have fresh coffee ready when your alarm goes off, but with a brewing speed of 3 minutes for a full pot, it is a minor inconvenience. I would highly recommend this coffee maker for your home or office.

"As a college student, I tend to save coffee for the most dire situations, usually the nights of finals week. But I guess I'm getting older and I need some help staying up, so I decided to make the plunge in buying a coffee maker.

My roommate had left me behind a Black & Decker DLX900, which didn't really seem to make a great cup of coffee, not to mention how it was served almost lukewarm. I figured, I'd look into buying a machine that would last me for ages, not just my final semester. I had picked up a DeLonghi easy front access coffeemaker from target, but immediately returned it based on the same problem as Black and Decker (not warm enough coffee)

So I bought this Bunn coffee maker after reading the reviews, and I am so glad I did. It turns my Wegmans sumatra night into the smooth rich blend it's supposed to be, and I only had to wait a few minutes!
Quality seems quite alright, but time will tell. At least for now, I'm left with a good cup of coffee, even if this poor student has just dropped a huge chunk on a coffee machine - when I hardly drink coffee anyways.

I recently purchased the new Keurig B-70 Gourmet Single Cup Home Brewing System that was released on October 1st, 2006 and have been very happy with it. The machine is extremely well designed, simple to operate, aesthetically pleasing, and most importantly, brews an excellent cup of coffee. I am very impressed with how quickly it is able to brew a cup of coffee, the selection of brew sizes, and how simple clean up is.

There are a variety of single cup brewers on the market now, many utilizing pre-packaged coffee "pods" for brewing. Personally I was not comfortable purchasing a product where I would be locked into the selection and pricing of a specific manufacturer, or one that would only brew coffee and not tea and cocoa. This is just one area where Keurig really shines above their competition.

Keurig has gathered support of a variety of gourmet coffee, tea, and cocoa manufacturers and there currently there are over 140 different types sold pre-packaged in K-Cups including Green Mountain, Diedrich, Gloria Jean's, Timothy's, Van Houtte, Tully's, Coffee People, Newman's Own, Celestial Seasonings, Bigelow, Twinings, and Ghirardelli. Not only is there a large selection to choose from, there are a variety of resellers online offering K-Cups, and pricing is extremely competitive.

In addition to the pre-packaged offerings, Keurig offers the My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter allows you to use your own gourmet ground coffee in your Keurig home brewer. This option provided the extra level of comfort I personally needed to make the jump into a single cup brewer. Frankly I don't find myself using it very often as I had originally thought, as there are so many options available in pre-packaged K-cups.

The pricing of the Keurig brewers are extremely reasonable, and brews gourmet coffee in just a fraction of the cost of purchasing it from a Starbucks, Coffee People, or similar. I expect that my machine will pay for itself in savings in just a couple months of use.

The only suggestion I have for Keurig is that the My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter be included with the sale of the brewer, and not an optional accessory. It is such an inexpensive accessory that I am surprised it was not included. Overall the Keurig brewers are excellent value and quality and would recommend them to anyone interested in a single cup brewer.

"I've used one of the smaller pod machines (Senseo) for a year or so for a quick morning cup. The coffee was nothing great, but it was convenient. I decided to get a D-70 for my office, mostly because I had seen one at another office, and I liked the presentation -- a selection of coffee types in the chrome rack. This thing makes GREAT coffee. I bought a second one for my home. I recommend spending the few extra dollars for the B-70 model, as opposed to the B60 or B40 models you see in stores. The B-70 has a larger water tank, but is still very compact. It also offers more cup sizes, and has a bigger LCD. The few people here that have voiced concerns about weak coffee or needing to use two k-cups, just haven't figured out the system. "I'm not all that picky when it comes to the quality of my coffee, but even I have to admit that this product makes really good coffee. I actually use it more often to make tea, using loose tea leaves instead of coffee grounds - it works perfectly for making either beverage. I love that this coffee maker goes straight onto the stove rather than plugging into a wall, and it's fascinating to watch everything happen through the clear glass. It's very easy to use. It's an elegant piece of kitchen equipment too, so I don't mind having it out on my counter all the time.

Some reviewers have commented about the fragility of this product, but I've used it daily for months and haven't had a single problem. I'm very clumsy and the box was mangled when it arrived too, so I can't imagine how you could easily break this coffeepot. I've dropped it in my sink, knocked it against the counter, or dropped it hard onto the burner several times and I have yet to experience a break.

There is one minor downside to the Bodum Santos coffeemaker: because there is no heating element in the pot itself, it doesn't stay warm as long as an electric coffeepot would. However, you can keep it hot for quite a while if you put the lid on the carafe after it finishes brewing. I think it's a small price to pay for a coffeemaker that works so well and makes such excellent drinks.
